Reverse Engineering

A term that is coming up a lot recently is “reverse engineering” but what does it mean? In any business it usually means to to follow someone else’s success and copy what they have done.  It is a very good technique to follow.  The old saying “do what I say not what I do”  certainly does not apply in business.   While you should always add your own touch to every thing you do there is no reason to reinvent the wheel.  If something works for someone else then it can work for you.

So “reverse engineering” is looking at the desired end result and then working towards its achievement.  You can wast a lot of time if you don’t have the end result in mind before you start.

This is also the basis of setting goals.  If you are hazy about what you want to achieve in live then you will just not have the motivation to do what is necessary to achieve.

The order should be “do what I do not what I say.”
